Payments can be made via the Student Online Payment Portal, by authorized bank draft, or by mailing a check to: University of Lynchburg, Office of Business and Finance, 1501 Lakeside Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24501-3113. Credit card payments are not accepted via telephone or in person at the on-campus Cashier’s Office. - I want to learn about Financial Aid or other types of financial assistance.
See “Financial Assistance” - Why does my Billing Statement not agree with my Financial Plan?
Your Financial Plan reflects all forms of aid awarded to you for the purpose of paying your tuition and fees. Your Billing Statement reflects only the funds actually received by the University as payment on your account. For example, suppose that your Financial Plan reflects that you have been awarded Loan A. Your Billing Statement will not reflect Loan A until the money is both distributed by the lender and received by the University. Typically, a lender does not disburse loan funds for a specified semester until you have completed all of your financial aid paperwork and you are attending classes for that semester. - I filed the FAFSA form, but I received a University bill anyway. Why?
Completing a FAFSA form is only one step in the process of identifying financial aid that may be available to you. However, filing a FAFSA form does not actually pay money to your bill or cover any University charges. - Can I defer paying my bill until after I graduate?
Payment of your bill is due to the University before you attend your first class of the current academic term. To discuss your payment options, contact Student Accounts (434.544.8217, studentaccounts@lynchburg.edu). - I took out a loan for the exact amount of the balance due on my University account, but not all of the loan was credited to my bill. What happened?
The lender first takes their fee (“origination fee”) from the money you borrowed before sending the remainder of the loan to the University. To pay the rest of your student account bill, you can work with your lender to increase the amount of your loan, or you can identify another funding source. - My bill includes on-campus housing charges, but I reside off campus.
The University’s On-campus Residential Requirements specify that all full-time undergraduate students live on campus; some limited exceptions are permitted. To apply for authorization to reside off campus, contact the Office of Housing and Residence Life (residencelife@lynchburg.edu, 434.544.8320). If approval is granted to you, HRL will notify the Office of Business and Finance so that on-campus housing charges can be removed from your bill.
