Claytor Nature Center co-sponsors ‘Hometown Habitat’ documentary June 1
University of Lynchburg’s Claytor Nature Center, in partnership with the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries and the Central Virginia Chapter of the Virginia Naturalist Program, will present the documentary Hometown Habitat: Stories of Bringing Nature Home, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1.
Dining hall goes greener, gets certified
The Burton Dining Hall is now a Certified Green Restaurant, recognizing its commitment to a sustainable environmental footprint. Burton recycles, uses energy-efficient equipment, and composts where possible.
University recycles most materials from McWane Hall
The University of Lynchburg recycled about 85 percent of the materials from the McWane Hall demolition. The residence hall, located between Freer and Shackleford halls, was demolished in May to make way for a new living and learning community. The new complex also will be home to the Westover Honors College.
