Over spring break, 10 students went to Everglades National Park with Lynchburg College’s Outdoor Leadership Program. For four days, they kayaked from island to island, past mangrove trees “standing” on spindly root-legs, and with dolphins sometimes swimming five feet from the boats.
One day, Lynchburg College grounds employee Tim Mason was headed to lunch at Drysdale Student Center. As a volunteer leader and participant with Lynchburg’s Outdoor Leadership Program, he and program coordinator Peter Berry had been thinking about alternative locations for rappelling.
University of Lynchburg’s high ropes challenge course received a makeover this month.
