The University of Lynchburg will present “Seussical” on Friday and Saturday, March 1 and 2. Performances in Dillard Fine Arts Center’s Hailey Theatre will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday and at 1 and 7 p.m. on Saturday.

As the saying goes, “it took a village” to get Shukria Rezayi ’27 from her home in Afghanistan to the University of Lynchburg for the Fall 2023 semester. But if you ask Alissa Keith ’14 MA, she’ll tell you it took “a thousand little miracles.”
Record number of international students arrive at Lynchburg
More than 80 international students arrived at the University of Lynchburg this week — a record number. Most of them were picked up by staff members who drove vans to Dulles International Airport on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Wanting to do something about it led her to the University Lynchburg’s Master of Public Health program. Here, she’s gaining the knowledge and skills she’ll need to help many of these children someday through her own charitable organization.
Commencement Spotlight: Jyoti Aggarwal
On Saturday, Jyoti Aggarwal will graduate from Lynchburg College with a Master of Education in Science Education. With the degree, she’ll be one step closer to becoming a chemistry professor. Asked about her career goals, she said, “It’s a pretty straightforward answer,” adding that she’s planned since high school to earn a PhD and teach at the university level.
Commencement Spotlight: Rayfurd Thompson
Rayfurd Thompson might never leave Lynchburg. In 2016, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in economic crime prevention and investigation, a program that draws on a number of disciplines, among them accounting, criminology, and computer science. In 2017, he finished a Master of Business Administration. On Saturday, he’ll don the mortarboard again for a master’s degree in nonprofit leadership studies.
