New trading room brings Wall Street to Lynchburg
Lynchburg College students in business, finance, and economics programs now have a Bloomberg Terminal, which puts cutting-edge financial data at their fingertips. Meanwhile, they’re managing the investment of $100,000 from the Lynchburg College endowment, giving them hands-on skills and the experience of dealing with real markets. Economics major using data to combat poverty and suffering
Ancito Etienne ’17 is spending the summer gathering data, crunching numbers, and making the case for public investment in hunger relief and conflict resolution around the world. He said his internship for Mercy Corps is preparing him to advocate for policies that will ease the suffering of the poor in his native Haiti.
