Artwork by area high school students is on display in the Lobby Gallery at the University of Lynchburg’s Dillard Fine Arts Center. This is the second year Lynchburg has hosted an exhibition of high school artwork. It began when art professors proposed the idea and invited area high school art teachers to nominate some of their students’ best work to be displayed on campus.

Connie Fox exhibit opens September 2 at Daura Gallery
An exhibit of work by abstract painter Connie Fox, will open Monday, September 2, in the University of Lynchburg’s Daura Gallery. The exhibit, which runs through Friday, December 6, also features figurative sculptures by Fox’s late husband, William King.
Rockbridge County artists examined in student-curated exhibition
The work of four artists with Rockbridge County ties are coming together in a new, student-curated exhibition at the University of Lynchburg. “The Rockbridge Group: Masters Along the Maury” opens with a reception at 4 p.m. Monday, April 22, at the Daura Gallery in the university’s Dillard Fine Arts Center. It will remain on view until May 17. The exhibition includes the art of Pierre Daura, Jean Hélion, Sally Mann, and Cy Twombly and explores how life, landscapes, and people in Rockbridge County shaped their art.
