LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – University of Lynchburg unveiled their new Garren Plaza dedicated to President Emeritus Ken Garren during Homecoming and Parents and Family weekend on Saturday, Oct. 21.

According to the university, an anonymous donor gave $1 million to the school in order to help fund the project.

Garren was the president at the university from 2001-2020. Garren and his wife, Sheila, stayed after the dedication to watch the women’s field hockey match with current President Dr. Alison Morrison-Shetlar and then met with faculty, staff, alumni, and friends.
