LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — The Lynchburg Hornets will be bringing some hardware back to campus on Friday night.
Lynchburg (48-8) defeated Johns Hopkins, 7-6, in the deciding game three of the Division 3 National Championship in Iowa to win the program's first national championship.
The team is expected to land at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport at 5:30 p.m. to make the drive back to the University of Lynchburg campus.

According to the school, the team will make it back to campus around 8:30 p.m. to ring the Victory Bell! They will also get a police escort to campus where the school has been invited to celebrate.
This triumph marks the fourth national championship title for a Lynchburg program. The women's soccer team achieved Lynchburg's inaugural national championship in 2014, while the equestrian program secured back-to-back NCEA single-discipline titles in 2022 and 2023.
