The University of Lynchburg’s Wind Symphony and Orchestra, directed by Dr. Oeida Hatcher, will present its annual holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 5 and 6, in Schewel Hall’s Sydnor Performance Hall.
The concert, “Holiday Memories: Frozen in Time,” will include Russian Christmas music by American composer Aldred Reed and medieval, jazz, and Colonial American pieces.
There also will be newly composed holiday music by Dr. Chris Sharp, assistant professor of music, and performances by the Community Big Band, directed by Dr. Chris Magee, and Dance Works, led by choreographer Abby Owen.
The concert has been described by Hatcher as “an evening for the young at heart.”
Tickets are required, but free. For tickets, email music@lynchburg.edu.
