Will Andrews ’24, a Westover Honors Fellow from Chester, Virginia, was recognized for outstanding service as an emergency medical technician. An EMT with Bensley-Bermuda Volunteer EMS Service in Chester, Andrews received the Regional EMS Award for Outstanding Contribution by a High School Senior.
The award, which included a $1,000 scholarship, was presented by Old Dominion Emergency Medical Services Alliance on Nov. 2. With the win, Andrews is eligible for a Governor’s EMS Award in the same category. The winner of that award receives a $5,000 scholarship.
Andrews, a biomedical science major with a minor in neuroscience, also is the 2020 junior vice president of the Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads.
