The University of Lynchburg will host two Virginia senate candidates the week before election day.
Republican candidate Corey Stewart will speak in Memorial Ballroom, Hall Campus Center, at 1 p.m. Monday, October 29. His campaign stop is free and open to the general public as well as the campus community. The University of Lynchburg Republicans organized the meeting after connecting with Stewart’s campaign staff earlier this year.
Democratic candidate and incumbent Timothy M. Kaine will hold a breakfast with students to promote voting on Wednesday, October 31, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in Hornet Hive in the Drysdale Student Center. The event, hosted by the University of Lynchburg Democrats, is targeted to the University’s students.
Media are welcome at both events.
Stewart is the at-large chairman of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors and an international trade attorney.
Kaine is a former Virginia governor who was first elected to the Senate in 2012 and was the Democratic nominee for vice president in 2016. He previously spoke at the University of Lynchburg in November 2017.
