University of Lynchburg President Dr. Kenneth R. Garren recently was interviewed for an episode of Cable Reports, a public affairs initiative produced by the Virginia Cable Telecommunications Association.
Filmed at the PBS studio in the Virginia General Assembly Building in Richmond, VCTA connects viewers throughout Virginia with state policymakers. Dr. Garren participated in the show while he was in Richmond to discuss higher education issues with state lawmakers. In the 30-minute interview, he talks about the important role that independent colleges play in meeting Virginia’s higher education needs, as well as the crucial role of Virginia Tuition Assistance Grants, which help students in the Commonwealth attend the colleges or universities of their choice.
