University of Lynchburg will welcome high school students and their families from around the Commonwealth for tours and information sessions during Virginia Private College Week from July 25-30.
Each year, Virginia Private College Week invites prospective students to learn about private colleges in Virginia. Students who visit at least three institutions during the week will receive three application fee waivers, which they may use to apply to any three participating colleges, including University of Lynchburg, for free.
Students who visit at least three institutions also will be entered into a drawing for a $500 Amazon gift card.
University of Lynchburg will hold campus tours for Virginia Private College Week at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. each day during the week and 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 30. Each tour will be followed by an information session about admissions, financial aid, and academic programs.
“We look forward to meeting many of the high school students and parents who are engaged in the search for the right college,” said Rita Detwiler, vice president for enrollment management. “Our campus tour and information session introduces visitors to the unique opportunities University of Lynchburg offers to students.”
Virginia Private College Week is sponsored by the Council for Independent Colleges in Virginia.
“Visiting campuses in person is one of the most important steps in the college search process,” said CICV President Robert Lambeth. “I encourage parents to explore which college will be the best fit for their son or daughter, and I want to reassure them that a quality education at a Virginia private college is affordable and within reach.”
