Alicia Carter, soprano, and Naomi Amos, pianist, will present a joint recital, “Songs of Youth,” on Tuesday, November 10, at 7 p.m. in Snidow Chapel at University of Lynchburg.
The program will feature Samuel’s Barber’s setting of James Agee’s text, “Knoxville: Summer of 1915” complete with a slide show depicting 20th century America. The program will also include “Six Simple Songs” by Erich Korngold, as well as selections by Debussy, Britten, and Rodgers and Hammerstein.
Ms. Carter is assistant professor of German and Spanish at University of Lynchburg, and Ms. Amos teaches an honors seminar and an arts colloquium in the College’s Westover Honors Program.
The concert is free and open to the public.
