Two news organizations ran stories this week about University of Lynchburg students doing research at Historic Sandusky with a new archaeology lab.
Hurt & Proffitt, an engineering firm, brought its lab to the historic home, which served as Union headquarters during the Battle of Lynchburg in the Civil War, through a partnership with LC and the Historic Sandusky Foundation. This summer, adjunct professor Lori Lee is leading the third annual archaeology field school. Students are continuing the search for the home’s detached kitchen that would have been present during the Civil War.
