Charlotte Guynes, the director of University of Lynchburg’s new Masters in Public Health program, was at a local restaurant recently when she noticed someone was choking. She performed the Heimlich maneuver and then went back to her seat. To her, she was helping where she could. But to the family of the person she helped, she was a lifesaver.
A reporter from WSET recently interviewed Guynes about the experience. He also facilitated an opportunity for the family of the teenager whose life she saved to meet her and express their thanks. Watch the report here.
Guynes is the chair of the LC health promotions program.
