The University of Lynchburg Choral Union will present a spring concert, “Penitential Hymns,” Saturday, April 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Snidow Chapel.
The program will consist of sacred works related to Maundy Thursday and Good Friday including Cantata 131: Out of Darkness Call I, Lord, to Thee by Johann Sebastian Bach and others by Mozart, Gretchaninoff, Lotti, and Victoria.
Dr. Jong Kim, professor of music and director of choral activities/vocal studies, will conduct the concert. Rose M. Peak will be accompanist.
The Choral Union is an auditioned choral group made up of University of Lynchburg faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community singers. Now in its 12th year, the chorus performs choral masterworks including an annual presentation of Handel’s Messiah.
There is no admission fee, but a $10 donation is suggested.
