University of Lynchburg students, staff, and faculty can now ride the Greater Lynchburg Transit Co. (GLTC) buses year round for free with a valid ID.
The College started offering free rides to the LC community during the academic year in fall 2010 to help reduce its carbon footprint.
LC ridership remained strong for the 2012-13 academic year, with a total of 12,669 boardings, compared to 13,521 for 2011-2012 and 10,616 for 2010-11, according to GLTC data.
The College has installed bus stops at its Lakeside Drive entrance and at the doctor of physical therapy (DPT) facility, also on Lakeside Drive.
Dr. David Perault, associate professor of environmental science, has created a web page to help demystify the bus schedule.
