German film evening
Almanya: Welcome to Germany (2011), a German comedy, is winner of the 2011 “Lola” (Germany Academy Award) for Best Film. After 45 years in Germany, a former Turkish guest worker takes his family back to the homeland.
Spanish Day

“La música y poesía de García Lorca”
This year’s event will be dedicated to the Spanish poet García Lorca (1898-1936). University of Lynchburg students and faculty will sing some of his “canciones populares” and recite his poetry. Two students will give a presentation on Lorca’s life. Special guest of the evening will be the Cuban baritone Carlos Alemán. He will sing some of the popular songs that Lorca collected in his native Andalucía. He will be accompanied by Naomi Amos on the piano. All presentations will be in Spanish.
