Applications are now being accepted for LC’s Summer Reading Clinic for struggling readers in grades K-12. The five-week clinic will run June 18 – July 20 from 9:30 to 11 and 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students wishing to apply must be recommended by their classroom teachers.
The cost of the clinic is $300, which will be due when a student is accepted into the program.
Students will receive one-on-one instruction from tutors who are graduates of LC’s master in education in reading program or are currently licensed reading specialists. Tutors will be supervised by University of Lynchburg professors.
The clinic will focus on individual assessment and remediation, beginning with a diagnosis of each student’s strengths and weaknesses. Tutors will use literature, games, and hands-on activities to address specific needs and engage students in learning.
