LC’s Office of Public Relations has been renamed College Communications and Marketing as it welcomes a new director and an expanded role.
College Communications and Marketing (CCM) now includes website oversight in addition to media relations, print publications, and advertising.
With the restructuring, President Kenneth Garren announced the promotion of Stephen Arnold to vice president of CCM. He has worked at LC since 1997. He has served the last eight years as associate vice president for College Relations and has worked on a variety of marketing initiatives, taught classes in media writing and broadcast journalism, produced videos and assisted the president on communications projects.
Deborah P. Blanchard has been named director of CCM after serving as director of Communications and Public Relations at Danville’s Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR), an outreach endeavor of Virginia Tech. She has more than 25 years experience, and her Memphis-based consulting company completed projects for organizations including Fed Ex, Best Western, AFLAC, Wal-Mart, Target and major fast food chains.
