The men’s cross country team captured its fourth-straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) title, hosted by LC at Claytor Nature Center on Oct. 29. The Hornets finished with 59 team points, edging out Guilford College with 60 points, and second-year LC head mentor Doug Thomasey earned the conference coach of the year award.
Sophomore Cody Stanton finished in seventh for LC in 26:29, while senior William Orndorff took eighth place in 26:41. Freshman Anthony McBride was 11th in 26:57. Senior Daniel Cutright placed 14th in 27:05 and Brian Robinson was 19th in 27:17. Ordnorff, McBride and Robinson each finished less than .30 seconds ahead of the runner behind them, even a one spot drop for any Hornet would have given the Quakers the team title.
The Hornets will compete November 12 at the South/Southeast Regionals in Seguin, Texas.
