The University of Lynchburg men’s lacrosse team is ranked in the Division III top 20 of the two major pre-season polls, and two Hornets were listed as pre-season All-Americans.
The Hornets are listed at #11 in Inside Lacrosse top 20 poll and #13 in Lacrosse Magazine. Lynchburg plays five ranked opponents this season, including old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) foes Roanoke and Hampden-Sydney colleges and non-conference opponents Stevenson University, Salisbury University, and Cabrini College. Salisbury and Stevenson are ranked in the top five of each poll.
Junior attack Dylan Hoff (Chester Springs, PA/Downington East) and sophomore midfielder Max Voumard (Cape May, NJ/St. Augustine Prep.) each were named pre-season All-Americans. Hoff earned second-team All-ODAC and All-State team honors last year, while Voumard earned the conference and state Rookie of the Year award.
Lynchburg opens the 2011 season Saturday, Feb. 19 at home against Salisbury at 1 p.m.
