The University of Lynchburg Wind Symphony, Orchestra, and Jazz Ensemble will present a two-night concert, “Night at the Movies,” highlighting Academy Award-winning film music scores February 19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Sydnor Performance Hall, Elliot & Rosel Schewel Hall.
The concert will feature music by John Williams, Randy Newman, James Horner, Claude-Michel Schonberg, and J.S. Bachand includes themes from Rudy, Air Force One, Amistad, Apollo 13, and Les Miserables. The LC Theatre cast of Thoroughly Modern Millie will make a special cameo appearance.
Dr. Oeida Hatcher, associate professor of music and director of music education/instrumental studies, and Harry Farmer, instructor of music, will conduct.
The concert is free and open to the public but reserved complimentary tickets are required. Tickets will be available beginning February 5 at the LC Music Office (544-8344).
