Dr. Hill serves as adjunct professor of anatomy in the Physician Assistant Medicine Program. He is recently retired from the practice of general surgery in Lynchburg for over 31 years.
His experience includes both elective and emergency surgery as well as call surgery, cross coverage surgery as well as clinical instruction of medical students, PA students, and residents. He has served on hospital committees and boards. He is experienced in legal opinions and reviews.
Dr. Hill graduated from Mississippi College with a B.S. in chemistry and biology. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia (now VCU School of Medicine) and completed a seven year residency in surgery from the University of Cincinnati. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He also served in the Navy for a brief period.
Dr. Hill lives with his wife Jackie in Lynchburg. They have four children and seven grandchildren. He is a hunter, enjoys target shooting, plays the cello, is a Master Gardener and is learning to be a bee keeper. He has participated in medical mission trips to South Korea, Uganda, and Jamaica. He has traveled to England, France, Italy, Israel, The Czech Republic, Poland, India and China.
