What sparked your interest in physical therapy?
Throughout high school, I volunteered in a classroom for preschoolers with disabilities and knew I wanted to pursue a therapy or special education field. After completing a clinical rotation in a physical therapy clinic for athletic training during my sophomore year of college, I began to do research on graduate programs and the differences between athletic training and physical therapy. I had experienced physical therapy as a patient; however, being on the other side of therapy was very interesting to me. After tearing my ACL and being in physical therapy for 6 months, I was sure this was the career path I wanted to pursue upon graduation.
What’s the most exciting part of the DPT program?
The most exciting part of the DPT program is being constantly surrounded by people who have the same passion, all the while achieving a common goal together. Between faculty and classmates, there is always someone willing to help.
What do you hope to do with your degree?
I hope to work in pediatrics. After going to St. Lucia on a service trip with other students and faculty, I am excited for the challenge, rewards, and lessons I can learn from tiny humans.
What are some of your hobbies?
Some of my hobbies include being active, traveling, working as an athletic trainer, and going to the beach.
What is your favorite quote?
