This talk introduces the notion of the superhumanities, a redefinition of
the humanities that point to a broader range of human experiences of
consciousness. The superhumanities provide access to altered states of
consciousness that is knowledge-producing but often dismissed as
paranormal, supernatural, or simply unreal. Engaging a diverse array of
interlocutors, Kripal argues that the superhumanities not only point
toward a new conception of knowledge, but also challenges us to rethink
human potential.
