Lynchburg College's 111th Commencement Week will be held May 12-17, 2014, ending with Commencement exercises on Saturday, May 17, 2014. See the week's schedule of events.
Because Commencement exercises are traditionally held outdoors, students are not limited to the number of invited guests. However, each student will be issued two tickets for the exercise in the event of inclement weather, and the tickets will be mailed with the invitation in April. If held indoors, Commencement exercises will take place in Turner Gymnasium, and tickets will be collected at the door. Please be advised that additional tickets are not available.
Commencement is a formal occasion and participants are expected to wear caps and gowns. Flowers MAY NOT be worn or carried by degree candidates. Diplomas will be presented to properly gowned participants only.
Campus alcohol policies will be strictly enforced during Commencement Weekend. NO alcoholic beverages are allowed during any portion of official Commencement Week ceremonies.
All Lynchburg area hotels are crowded during this particular weekend. Families are urged to make arrangements for overnight accommodations as soon as possible.
