Giving Societies
The 1903 SocietyDr. Josephus Hopwood, founder of Lynchburg College, worked with Disciples of Christ ministers and local businessmen to raise the necessary funds for the new college. Dr. Hopwood’s faith, vision, and philanthropy were the beginning of a tradition that has sustained the College. The 1903 Society recognizes alumni, parents, and friends who, through their annual support of $1,000 or more, continue this tradition more than 100 years later. Support from members of The 1903 Society helps to maintain the level of excellence that alumni, parents, and friends have come to expect at Lynchburg College. Benefits of membership include special recognition in the Annual Honor Roll of Contributors, College mailings with advance notice of events and special programs, invitations to special events hosted by President Garren, and updates on the most recent news from LC.
