What is the Pathway 2+2 Program?
University of Lynchburg (LC) in partnership with Central Virginia Community College (CVCC) provide students with Pathway guides to five majors at University of Lynchburg. Each Pathway outlines the set of courses students should take if they are interested in one of the specific majors and want to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in four years.

Is taking part in the Pathway program right for me?
It is up to you if you feel the Pathway programs is the right course for you to take. This is an excellent program for students focused on completing their degree in 4 years. During your time in this program you will be taking a full course load of between five–six classes per semester.
Which majors have a University of Lynchburg (LC) Pathway?

- Economics: General and Financial Emphases
- Management: General and Human Resource Management Emphases

If I take part in one of the Pathway programs, am I guaranteed admission into University of Lynchburg (LC)?
Students are not guaranteed admissions into University of Lynchburg if they complete the Pathway program at CVCC. Students need to complete the recommended course sequence at CVCC and complete an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Business Administration at CVCC and complete all recommended courses with a “C” or higher for them to transfer.
Under our guaranteed admissions agreement with Virginia’s community college system, students who earn an associate degree in Arts & Sciences with a cumulative grade point average of a 2.5 or higher, will be guaranteed admission and will have met our general education requirements with the exception of the foreign language requirement and Senior Symposium.
Do students need to let someone know that they are working on a Pathway?
There is no need to report to University of Lynchburg (LC) or Central Virginia Community College (CVCC) that you are working on a Pathway program. It is highly encouraged that you speak with an academic advisor at CVCC to make sure you are taking the courses you need for your degree and for the Pathway program, to ensure you have a smooth transition to LC. You will need to indicate on your application that you are participating in one of the Pathway programs.
I’m not attending Central Virginia Community College, but another Virginia community college. Can I still take part in one of the pathway programs?
The Pathway 2+2 program is applicable to all of the Virginia community colleges, but be aware that not all Virginia community colleges courses are available at every one of the community colleges, so the Pathway might not be the best option for you. Please consult the Transfer Coordinator in the Admissions Office for additional information.
I’m currently enrolled in the Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Business Administration at CVCC and have already completed my first year. Can I still participate in one of the Pathway programs?
Yes, it’s not too late to start in the Pathway program. You need to get in contact with an academic advisor at CVCC as soon as possible to make sure the classes you are taking in your third and fourth semester align with the Pathway program. You should also consult the Transfer Coordinator in the Admissions Office at University of Lynchburg for additional information.
If I participate in one of the Pathways, am I still eligible for scholarships at University of Lynchburg?
Yes, transfer students who participate in the Pathway program are still eligible for LC scholarships designated for transfer students and will be able to participate in the Transfer Scholarship Competition.
