Ms. Williams is from Lynchburg, Virginia.
In 1983, she joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Luke AFB in Phoenix as a Fuels Specialist. After receiving an honorable discharge, she moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado and worked for several government contractors at Peterson AFB, Space Command. Ten of her twelve years there she held the position of the Fuels Flight Manager. She also served in the active USAF Reserves for two years at Peterson AFB.
In 1998, she moved back home to be with aging family. She began working at Lynchburg College in 1998. She enjoys working with faculty and students in her present job as administrative assistant in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Ms. Williams has two cats, three dogs and a guinea hen, all who she says keep her entertained. She enjoys reading, especially romance novels and poetry, art, and going to yard sales, flea markets, and antique shops. She loves the mountains, but has a special fondness for the beach, where she finds peace.
