Qualified students are eligible to become nominated to Phi Sigma Iota, the International Foreign Language Honor Society.
Phi Sigma Iota recognizes outstanding accomplishment in the study or teaching of any of the academic fields related to foreign language, literature, or culture. Phi Sigma Iota is the highest academic honor in the field of foreign languages.
Students are inducted into the organization during the spring semester of their junior or senior year.
Fourteen students were inducted on April 5, 2018: Joshua Bell, Nash Bilisoly, Wendy Borkoski, Savannah Doane, McKenzie Frederick, Nicole Freewalt, Luis Lastra, Endasia Mitchell, Melissa Radday, Valeria Rojo, Jenny Schimmel, Caitlin Tolley, Hannah Wolf, Oliva Yurko.
