Susanna Young brings the Theatre Department an array of experiences and techniques for storytelling in both dance and theatre. Her recent projects include Spamalot, Spring Awakening, Little Women, Peter and the Starcatcher and the world premiere of the children’s musical Marvelous Cornelius.
Susanna has choreographed, directed and acted in Los Angeles with several companies, including Skypilot Theatre, Creating Arts Company, and the Academy of New Musical Theatre.
As a choreographer and theatre instructor she has taught at Washington and Lee University, Hollins University, Stagedoor Manor, Virginia Episcopal School and the Adderley School of Performing Arts in Austin, Texas. Her teaching experience includes tap, jazz, ballet, modern, musical theatre and contemporary scene study.
Her professional associations include Mill Mountain Theatre, Roanoke Children’s Theatre, Roanoke Ballet Theatre and the American Dance Festival.
