Our secondary education minor will prepare you to provide young people with the tools they need to be successful in college or the work place. When you complete one of the approved majors in a teaching field, and add the secondary education minor, you can be licensed to teach grades 6-12.
What Will I Study?
In addition to professional education and licensure requirement courses, courses in your major, you can earn an endorsement in specific areas of the sciences, English, French, Spanish, history and social studies, math, art, music, theatre, or health and physical education.
You’ll get practical experience with a semester of student teaching in grades 6 through 12, and you’ll be well prepared to pass the tests required for licensure.
What Kind of Job Can I Get?
You can teach in public or private middle or high schools.
