Following completion of her master’s degree in clinical psychology, Dr. RiCharde worked for five years as a mental health counselor at the Community Services Board in Lexington, VA, and then in a private practice for another year and a half before deciding to do something different. She completed a year of AmeriCorps*VISTA service at Washington & Lee University, where she ran, evaluated, and expanded a mobile food pantry. Dr. RiCharde completed a doctorate in International Psychology, with a concentration in trauma. International Psychology is the umbrella field under which are cultural, cross-cultural, feminist, and indigenous psychologies.
She completed two field experiences as a part of her doctoral coursework, one in Sao Paulo, Brazil and another in Quezon City, Philippines. Dr. RiCharde has also taught courses at Virginia Military Institute and Southern Virginia University.
