Each semester, students:
- take lessons on their primary performing instrument
- perform on two student recitals
- participate in one or more small and large instrumental ensembles
Students take courses in:
- music theory, aural skills, music analysis, and piano
- music history
- world music
- music technology
- conducting
- instrumental pedagogy
- instrumental literature
Toward the end of their studies, students demonstrate their musical accomplishments and understanding by:
- presentation of a shared, half-hour junior recital
- successful completion of the senior seminar in music performance course
- presentation of a solo senior recital
