Instructor of Music
For ten years, Jeremy served as choral director at Jefferson Forest High School and Forest Middle School in Bedford County, Virginia. During his time in public school, the choral programs significantly grew in quality, quantity, and enthusiasm. His students were selected annually for membership in the Virginia Honors Choir, All-Virginia Choirs, and All-District choirs. Bella Voce, the advanced women’s ensemble of Jefferson Forest High School, performed at the Virginia Music Educators Conference in 2016.
Currently, Mr. Craft serves as the Secretary for the Virginia Choral Director’s Association, but also held positions as District Chairperson and Representative. From 2010–2014, Jeremy served as the Chairperson for the Choral Sight-Reading Assessment committee which developed the guidelines and procedures for the state-wide assessment. Jeremy has served as guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician throughout Virginia.
Jeremy graduated from University of Lynchburg with an MEd in Reading Education and an MA in Choral Conducting, studying with Dr. Jong Kim (Incheon City Chorale, South Korea) and Dr. Cynthia Ramsey. Mr. Craft completed his undergraduate degree in Music Education from Concord University in Athens, West Virginia.
Jeremy M. Craft currently serves as the Director of Choral Activities at University of Lynchburg, teaching undergraduate conducting, piano, voice, and methods courses.
