Experiential Learning
Museum Studies students work one-on-one with museum professionals in the Daura Gallery, University of Lynchburg’s art museum, and Historic Sandusky, the University’s historic house museum. Students work with the museums’ collections, install exhibitions, conduct research, and learn more about the many facets of museum operations.
Numerous internship options) are open to students at regional and national museums, depending on their field of interest—art, history, natural history, zoology, science, children’s museums, and others.

Students have the opportunity for hands-on learning, independent study, and research using the Museum Studies Library.
The Museum Studies Library is contains reference books, museum journals and newspapers, internship listings, job and career opportunities, and graduate school information. It is located in the Daura Gallery offices, Dillard Fine Arts Center.
