About the Major
The Data Science and Statistics major explores the science of learning from data. Coursework covers the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data, as well as the effective communication and presentation of these results. Statisticians can work in virtually any field, from business and social science to biology and medicine.
The data science and statistics curriculum is designed to provide students with the broad range of core competencies required of all statistics professionals, as well as the opportunity to acquire an understanding of selected advanced topics.
