Volunteer
Dr. Johnson was the School of PA Medicine’s inaugural Medical Director and officially retired from the role on Dec. 31, 2022. However, Dr. Johnson remains active in the PA program as a PA advocate and volunteer. While serving in this position, he also continues to serve as a practicing physician with Centra Medical Group Emergency Services and HealthWorks.
Prior to joining the University of Lynchburg, he served as the Director of ED Advanced Practice Provider Services for Centra Health where he provided oversight to the PAs and NPs employed in the emergency department. Dr. Johnson lives in Lynchburg with his wife Kathy and daughter Katie.
