Associate Director of the Doctor of Medical Science Program
Dr. James A. Shuler Jr. is the Associate Program Director for the DMSc Program. He is a 2019 graduate of the University of Lynchburg Doctor of Medical Science Program and completed his Master’s degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Shuler is also a graduate of the LeMoyne College PA program. He is a native of Syracuse, N.Y., and prior to entering the PA profession worked as a respiratory therapist.Dr. Shuler has over 20 years of clinical experience as a PA. He began his career in primary care, and has an extensive background practicing in urgent care and emergency medicine. Dr. Shuler served as the founder and director of the fellowship program of a large urgent care organization. Most recently he has worked in inpatient neurosurgery at the Crouse Neuroscience Institute in Syracuse, N.Y.
