Background
Dr. Ramsey received her bachelor of music education (1985) from James Madison University, her master of music education from Shenandoah Conservatory (2005), and doctor of musical arts in music education at Shenandoah Conservatory (2008). Dr. Ramsey taught in the Bedford County Public School System for 20 years where she served as director of band and/or taught algebra one at Liberty High School.
Experience
At University of Lynchburg, she coordinates the Class Piano Program, teaches elementary and secondary music education courses, and music history. She serves as the piano accompanist for many of the College’s music majors and minors, performing recitals and concerts throughout the school year.
Dr. Ramsey has served as a clinician and adjudicator for marching and concert festivals statewide. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she serves as organist at First Christian Church, Lynchburg.
