Dr. Joyce S. Nicholas serves as the Director of Evaluation, Assessment, and Compliance, for the University of Lynchburg School of PA Medicine. She works collaboratively with faculty and students in the review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the PA Medicine program. She is actively involved in the teaching of research methodology and mentoring of research clerkships and graduate research projects.
Before joining University of Lynchburg, Dr. Nicholas served 15 years at the Medical University of South Carolina as Professor of Epidemiology in the Department of Public Health Sciences and the Department of Neurosciences, followed by 3 years at Centra Health as Director of Neuroscience Research. Additionally, she has served as Adjunct Professor in Clemson University’s Department of Bioengineering, and is an epidemiologist for the global medical education nonprofit Madaktari Africa.
