Dr. Joseph Bowman joined the Physician Assistant Medicine faculty full-time in May 2015. He retired from the U.S. Army after 27 years of service including 17 years as a NCCPA certified Physician Assistant.
Dr. Bowman’s experience includes operational, tactical, aviation, and emergency medicine as well as primary care. He has worked in both prehospital and hospital settings. He served as the Executive Officer of a Combat Support Hospital and as the Chief of Professional Services for a Medical Brigade.
Dr. Bowman graduated from the U.S. Army Physician Assistant Program with a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio. He earned his Master’s degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He completed the U.S. Army Emergency Medicine PA Fellowship with a Doctor of Science degree from Baylor University.
