What sparked your interest in physical therapy?
When I graduated from college I started working in the marketing industry and quickly realized that I really didn’t enjoy what I did. I had a friend at the time who was a PT Tech at a local outpatient clinic and he convinced me to apply for another Tech job. Well needless to say I got hired and quickly fell in love with what I was doing. The ability to actually be able delve into my patients lives daily, be able to live life with them, and make a difference in their lives all at the same time was what made me fall in love with the profession.
What’s the most exciting part of the DPT program?
I’m a people person. I love the fact that LC DPT program feels like a family! We live and work together and that’s priceless in my opinion. I can honestly say that there is not a person in my class that I don’t consider a close friend. I also really enjoy the professors at LC, they are all very approachable and always willing to help.
What do you hope to do with your degree?
I’m keeping an open mind to different areas of the PT profession that I am interested in, but if I had to pick right now I’d say I’m leaning towards an Outpatient Orthopedic Clinic as my eventual destination after graduation.
What are some of your hobbies?
Ultimate Frisbee, Golf, Ultimate Frisbee, Other group sports, Ultimate Frisbee, did I say Ultimate Frisbee?
What is your favorite quote?
“No matter what you believe, your vote doesn’t carry your cross.” – (my friend Paul Underwood)
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (My savior Jesus Christ) Matthew 22:36-40
Anything else that you’d like to share?
I wouldn’t be able to be who I am without my Wife (Rikki) and 2 children (Issak-5 and Evan-2).
