“Megan is always positive and doesn’t seem to let the stress of her workload affect her interactions with faculty and staff. Her availability as a graduate assistant has been a great contribution to the front office staff. Her attitude is contagious to those around her and her help is greatly appreciated. “

“One of the goals of the admissions committee is to create a positive experience for prospective students by giving them a real sense of the community and the family environment here at University of Lynchburg. Megan has exemplify the above and beyond spirit with her patience and friendly demeanor. She is a great representative for our program at University of Lynchburg by providing tours for prospective students, assisting in numerous DPT information sessions, and sharing her experience with current Westover students interested in physical therapy. She has a great attitude and is constantly looking for ways to help the front office needs. For this reason and many more I nominate her for student of the month!“
– Savannah Cook, Admissions Coordinator
What sparked your interest in physical therapy?
My initial interest in physical therapy developed after watching my grandmother go through therapy following her heart attack. After seeing the PT’s work, and going through therapy myself as an athlete after a track and field injury in high school, I knew I wanted to help make a difference and impact the lives of others in a positive way!
What’s the most exciting part of the DPT program?
The most exciting part is getting to work with a great faculty that constantly push you to become better than you already are. Outside of that, I love practicing new skills and techniques in the lab.
What do you hope to do with your degree?
I am really interested in orthopedic manual therapy, and would love to be able to open my own clinic in the future.
What are some of your hobbies?
I love hanging out with friends, running, lifting, kayaking, and playing with my dog. I would spend all day outside by the water if I could!
What is your favorite quote?
“Life is like a game of cards. The hand that is dealt you represents determinism; the way you play is your own will.” – Jawaharial Nehru
“Think twice before you speak, because your words and influence will plant the seed of either success or failure in the mind of another.” —Napoleon Hill
