Will the same programs be offered next summer?
Programs for next summer are not yet finalized. If your canceled University-sponsored program is offered next summer, we will make sure to communicate that to you directly.
I had to purchase vaccines, luggage, or a passport for my trip. Will I be reimbursed?
Lynchburg will not reimburse students for vaccines/luggage/passports or any personal purchases made in preparation of these trips.
My program was canceled. How will that affect my academic progress to graduate on time?
- The University of Lynchburg will work closely with schools/colleges to mitigate the potential impact on students’ academic progress. Depending on the program, we will work with students to consider alternative options, such as registering for classes at Lynchburg this summer or fall semester.
- Affiliate and non-affiliate providers have moved courses online so that students enrolled in a Spring 2020 semester program can complete their coursework. We recommend that students contact their program provider with any questions.
My program was canceled. Will I get a full refund, and when can I expect it?
All students and guest travelers enrolled in a University-sponsored international spring break or summer program will receive a full refund for deposits and payments already made. The Center for Global Education will work with Student Accounts and Accounts Payable to issue refunds of all funds paid to the University within 4-8 weeks or as soon as possible. If you do not receive your refund within that time period, please contact studyabroad@lynchburg.edu.
Will COVID-19 affect 2020-21 planned programs?
At this time, the University has only canceled Spring/Summer 2020 international programs. We will continue to monitor the situation and make determinations as necessary.
If I withdraw from my program or it is canceled, what will happen with the scholarship and federal financial aid money dispersed to me to pay for this program?
This will vary based on the situation of that particular student. For specific answers, please reach out to the financial aid office.
