Teaching is My Superpower is a video series created by the T+LC to highlight Lynchburg faculty that have been recognized for their teaching excellence.
The T+LC’s mission is to provide resources and support to faculty members who wish to gain knowledge and skills related to innovative, evidence-based pedagogy, leading to more effective learning environments for Lynchburg students. It is our hope that these stories will inspire educators everywhere with new and innovative ideas for the classroom and strategies that engage students and foster life-long learning.
David Lipani, professor of English, strives to instill a desire to know and learn in his students by sharing his love for reading and literature. He encourages his students to learn all they can about a topic or situation, so they can think for themselves and draw their own conclusions.
Danny Cline, professor of mathematics, provides an engaging learning environment where his students can develop problem-solving skills that will help them in mathematics and the rest of their professional lives.
Price Blair, professor of biology and biomedical science, teaches in the Physical Therapy and PA Medicine Programs at Lynchburg. He uses creative diagrams and graphic organizers to make complex subject matter more accessible, while customizing his instruction to meet the needs of all students.
Karena Heyward, professor of counseling, uses creative role-playing activities to create an engaging learning environment where actively participate in the counseling process and make iterative changes based on detailed, personalized feedback.
