University of Lynchburg is pleased to invite both nominations and applications for the position of Director of Clinical Education within the Department of PA Medicine. The program is committed to providing quality education to PA Medicine students, focusing on leadership and advocacy, and will confer the degree of Master of PA Medicine (MPAM). The program received Accreditation-Provisional status from the ARC-PA in March 2015 and has just welcomed its fourth cohort.
Responsibilities: The Director of Clinical Education will be an individual capable of implementing a strong program that reflects the mission of the University of Lynchburg. This individual will have responsibility for leading the development of program partnerships with healthcare providers and agencies, establishing clinical sites for the program, handling the contracts for such sites, monitoring the sites, assisting with preparation necessary for program accreditation, and teaching in the program. S/he will report to the Program Director/Chair of the PA Medicine Program.
Qualifications: The Clinical Director should be a certified PA, physician, or other healthcare provider with appropriate graduate-level education. Individuals should have a minimum of 3-5 years of medical experience as well as experience relevant to educational settings with particular emphasis on medical education. Previous work in the development and/or support of PA clinical programs is highly desirable. University of Lynchburg is particularly interested in an individual who has a commitment to collaborative work and has clinical expertise, demonstrated ability in the management of the clinical components of the program, and familiarity with PA preparation programs. Candidate must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the College.
This position will be a 12-month, continuing clinical contract appointment beginning as early as July 1, 2018.
