Thomas C. Allen Award for Excellence in Academic Advising
Given for the first time in 2002, and renamed in 2007 to honor the dedication and student focus of beloved English professor, Thomas C. Allen, the Academic Advising Award is given annually to honor a faculty or staff colleague for excellence in advising practices. Any full-time member of the Lynchburg College faculty or staff who has not received the award within the last 5 years is eligible.

Elsie Ervin Bock Award for Excellence in Citizenship
The Elsie Ervin Bock Award for Excellence in Citizenship is given annually to honor a faculty colleague whose service to the College and/or the community exemplifies outstanding service to the College and surrounding community. The award was established in 1993 and renamed in 1996 for Elsie E. Bock, the first recipient and a long-time and respected member of the faculty. The Award is presented at the Trustees Banquet in May.

James A. Huston Award for Excellence in Scholarship
The James A. Huston Award for Excellence in Scholarship, established in 1979, is named in honor of James A. Huston, former dean of the College. It is given annually to one or more members of the teaching faculty of the College who has/have made noteworthy scholarly contributions to his/her field of endeavor. Any full-time member of the Lynchburg College faculty who has not received the award within the last 5 years is eligible. The award is presented at the Trustees Banquet in May.

Shirley E. Rosser Award for Excellence in Teaching
Established in 1988-89, this award is the top teaching honor given by LC is presented each year to a member of the teaching faculty of the College in recognition of personal and inspirational teaching, consistency of course preparation, current study in one’s field, and encouragement given to students to be active and lifelong learners. The award is named for Dr. Shirley E. Rosser, a professor in the Department of Physics at Lynchburg College for forty-five years. A 1940 graduate of the College, he was loved and respected by many generations of students and faculty. To be considered for the Rosser Award, a faculty member must be nominated by a student currently enrolled at Lynchburg College. The selection committee comprises previous Rosser Award recipients and considers student comments and any support documentation submitted by the nominee.

Edward A. Polloway Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching
Established in 2015-16, this award, named in honor of Edward A. Polloway, former Dean of Graduate Studies, is given each year to a member of the graduate teaching faculty of the College who is recognized as an exemplary representative of the quality of the teaching faculty at Lynchburg College and the pride taken in that tradition.
